Easy Yarn Paper Plate Heart Craft!

Who’s excited about Valentine’s Day coming up?! I am! I love Valentines Day and not just because it’s a holiday, which I’m a major fan of holidays but because I love LOVE! And I love teaching my littles about love and loving others! And sometimes making a craft together is the perfect time to tell your kids how much you love them and also talk about how important love is in our lives!

Here's a fun Valentine's Day craft to make with your littles!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

Paper Plates (we used red and pink plates)
White Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Yarn Needle
Yarn (we used rainbow colored yarn to make our hearts really POP!)
Tape
Hole Punch

DIRECTIONS:

1. We started by folding a piece of paper in half and cutting a heart shape out to use for a template.
We then traced the heart template onto the back center of the paper plate and then cut the heart shape out.

2. Next, we took our hole punch and punched holes all around the perimeter of the heart. Make sure to leave spaces in between the holes.

3. Next we thread our yarn needle with a long strand of yarn. We pulled the yarn through a hole and when it got to the end we taped the yarn to the back of the paper plate. We then continued threading the yarn all around the holes of the heart, in a zig-zag pattern, until each hole was used up.

4. Once we finished threading our hearts, we cut the needle off and then taped the end of the yarn onto the back of your paper plate.

You can also tape an extra long strand of yarn to the back of the plate to hang up as decoration too!
